LORD - A Walk with Jesus Sermon Series - Pastor Chris
LORD (Master)
Matthew 8:5-13, Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 6:46, Romans 10:9-13 1
1. Jesus is the only rightful LORD
Jesus is not merely a teacher or moral guide—He is God in the flesh, and His words carry the same power that created light, sky, and life itself. After the Sermon on the Mount, His words continue to bring life where there is none. When Jesus speaks, there is life! The authority of His Word reveals that He alone is Lord.
2. True Faith Begins With Humility - Declaring Jesus as Lord
The Roman centurion shows us that coming to Jesus requires humility, not status, religion, or privilege. By calling Jesus “Lord,” this man surrendered his authority, pride, and reputation. He understood that his power meant nothing compared to Christ’s authority. Declaring Jesus as Lord is not just a title—it is a complete surrender of control, trusting Jesus with our very lives!
3. The Authority of Jesus as Lord Releases Power
When Jesus is acknowledged as Lord, His authority becomes active in our lives. The centurion understood authority—when one under authority speaks, power is released. In the same way, submitting to Jesus places us under His supreme authority, granting access to His power to heal, save, and restore. Salvation, healing, and eternal life are given not through religion or heritage, but through faith expressed in a surrendered life that declares and lives under the Lordship of Jesus.
